Kettner Crossing is Groundbreaking

In April 2023, public- and private-sector partners celebrated the groundbreaking of Kettner Crossing – a 64-unit affordable senior apartment building in the heart of San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood.

Transforming Vacant Land.

The County contributed the dirt lot on Kettner Boulevard and Beech Street and contributed an additional financial investment to the project.

The Right Partners.

This project is funded by mission-focused public- and private-sector partners, including BRIDGE Housing, a nationally recognized nonprofit developer, owner, and manager of affordable housing.

Affordable Housing.

The eight-story building will have six studios, three two-bedrooms and 55 one-bedrooms apartments for seniors earning 30%-50% of AMI.

Smart Location.

The development is transit- and community-oriented, located next to the San Diego Trolley line and a short walk to Waterfront Park, retail shops, restaurants and a weekly farmers’ market.
